Why we built FamilySafe.
FamilySafe started with a drawer. A family I knew spent months after a death piecing a whole life back together from scattered paper, half-remembered passwords and banks that would not talk to them.
They were grieving, and instead of being able to grieve they became administrators: chasing policy numbers, guessing logins, and proving again and again who they were. None of it was unusual. It happens to most families, at the worst possible time, because the information a household runs on is never kept in one place.
I kept thinking the same thing. This should already be done. Not as a grim, once-and-for-all exercise, but as something a household keeps quietly in order, a little at a time, the way you would keep anything important. Useful every ordinary day. Ready for the day you hope is far away.
So we built FamilySafe: one organised place for everything a household holds, shared only with the people you trust, ready when your family needs it. It is the thing I wish that family had been given long before they needed it.
